Senior Category Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Category Manager to join a leading international manufacturing services organization based in Basel, Switzerland.

This is a strategic procurement role responsible for developing sourcing strategies across a portfolio of engineered spare parts and maintenance components.

Working closely with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain, you will optimize supplier performance, deliver commercial value, and ensure a resilient global supply base supporting manufacturing and aftermarket operations.

This is an onsite position based in Basel.

Key responsibilities as Senior Category Manager include:

• Develop and implement category strategies across spare parts, machined components, electronics, and maintenance-related materials
• Lead strategic sourcing activities, supplier selection, and complex commercial negotiations with an international supplier base
• Build long-term supplier partnerships focused on quality, cost optimization, innovation, and security of supply
• Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Service teams to support new product introductions and ongoing operational requirements
• Identify opportunities to reduce total cost of ownership while mitigating supply chain risks and improving supplier performance

The ideal candidate profile:

• Strong Procurement or Category Management experience within an aviation, automotive, or services-related industry
• Proven experience sourcing spare parts, machined components, electronics, MRO, or other engineered materials
• Strong commercial negotiation skills with experience managing strategic supplier relationships on an international scale
• Able to work cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain stakeholders to deliver business objectives
• Analytical, commercially minded, and experienced in developing long-term category strategies
• Degree qualified in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline
• Fluent English is essential; German or French would be advantageous
