We’re looking for a Water Serviceperson to join our Canterbury team. If you enjoy practical work, solving problems and making a visible difference in your community, this could be the opportunity for you.
  • Build hands-on expertise by installing and repairing water mains, service pipes, meter connections, valves and hydrants.
  • Help protect the quality and reliability of Canterbury's water through flushing, planned shutdowns and network maintenance.
  • Enjoy varied outdoor work, from site preparation and trenching to delivering resources and caring for vehicles and equipment.
  • Work alongside an experienced team that values safety, practical ideas and learning on the job.
 
What you’ll need:
  • A full Class 1 driver licence and ability to drive a manual vehicle; Class 2 is desirable.
  • A Level 3 Infrastructure Works qualification, equivalent, or willingness to work towards it.
  • Relevant practical experience in water services, civil construction, infrastructure or trades.
  • Wheels, tracks and rollers, traffic management or first aid qualifications are advantageous, or willingness to obtain them.
  • Knowledge of water plant and equipment, confidence with workplace technology, and a strong safety and teamwork focus.
  • Physical fitness and availability for the after-hours on-call roster.
