As a Government Owned Corporation, Sunwater operates within a unique environment that balances commercial performance with the delivery of Government priorities and exceptional customer outcomes. Working closely with the Queensland Government, customers and regional communities, the organisation is responsible for delivering critical water infrastructure and services that create lasting value for Queensland.
The Board is now seeking an exceptional Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead Sunwater through its next phase of growth and performance. Reporting to the Board, the CEO will provide strategic leadership across one of Queensland's most significant Government Owned Corporations, ensuring the successful delivery of the organisation's strategy, Statement of Corporate Intent and long-term commercial objectives. The CEO will build and lead a high-performing executive team, foster a customer focused culture, strengthen relationships with Government and key stakeholders, and position Sunwater to respond to evolving customer, community and policy priorities.
This is a highly visible leadership role requiring an executive who can successfully operate at the intersection of Government priorities, customer outcomes and commercial performance. Working closely with the Board, Shareholding Ministers, Government stakeholders, customers and industry, the CEO will translate strategy into action, deliver important strategic and capital programs, drive organisational performance and ensure Sunwater continues to provide safe, reliable and sustainable water services across Queensland.
To be successful in this role, you will be a proven CEO or equivalent, with an outstanding record of leading operationally complex organisations and successfully executing strategy to deliver sustained commercial, financial and operational outcomes. You will have demonstrated success leading organisational transformation, building high-performing executive teams and navigating complex stakeholder environments where Government, customers and commercial priorities intersect.
You will bring exceptional commercial judgement, political acumen and the ability to build trusted relationships with the Board, Government, customers, industry and regional communities. Experience in water, utilities or other asset-intensive industries will be highly regarded, together with an appreciation of the opportunities and challenges facing regional Queensland. MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualifications are preferred.
