Due to continued growth, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager to strengthen their commercial team.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Proven experience as a Managing Quantity Surveyor, Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
  • Strong commercial and contractual knowledge across major construction projects.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and leading commercial teams.
  • Excellent financial, commercial and analytical skills.
  • Strong negotiation and dispute resolution experience.
  • The ability to identify and mitigate commercial risk throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive approach with strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
  • Experience working on large-scale commercial, residential and/or public sector developments is highly desirable.
Duties of the Role

As Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for leading all commercial aspects of your allocated projects, ensuring successful delivery while maximising profitability and minimising risk.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Leading the commercial management of major construction projects from pre-construction through to final account.
  • Managing project budgets, cost reporting, forecasting and financial performance.
  • Overseeing procurement strategies and subcontractor management.
  • Identifying, managing and mitigating commercial and contractual risks.
  • Negotiating contracts, variations and final accounts.
  • Providing commercial advice and support to operational teams and senior management.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners.
  • Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures.
  • Leading commercial reporting and presenting project performance to senior leadership.
  • Supporting tender submissions, value engineering initiatives and commercial strategy.
  • Mentoring and developing junior commercial team members, promoting best practice across the business.
  • Driving continuous improvement while maintaining the highest standards of commercial governance and client service.
