Head of Commercial Operations

Consolidated Pastoral Company (CPC) is a leading Australian managed, UK owned Agribusiness with strong ESG values. CPC owns and operates a portfolio of 11 station aggregations in Australia and 2 feedlots in Indonesia. 

Across more than 5.5m hectares of land, the CPC team care for more than 400,000 head of cattle, 100,000 sheep, 50,000 goats and produce a diverse range of crops. With an asset base in excess of AUD$1.5 billion, CPC supplies a variety of domestic and international customers. CPC is developing new business streams in emissions reduction and sequestration, biodiversity and sustainable energy production.

CPC is well down the path and is committed to transforming CPC from a leading cattle business into a globally significant agribusiness with a strong presence in cattle, sheep, goats, crops and natural capital whilst developing sustainable energy opportunities. They will continue to undergo significant growth and business diversification, and the operations team is building a deeper team for growth, succession and key person risk.

With new business streams, a more diverse geographic footprint, increased business operating environment complexity and more focus on performance and productivity, CPC requires a Head of Commercial Operations to provide further depth to the executive team as well as provide potential future succession options.  

We are keen to hear from you If you possess the following experience, key skills and attributes:

• Proven senior level leadership experience, ideally with exposure to livestock and/or other segments of Australian agriculture
• High level written and verbal communications skills, projecting a professional image when representing CPC
• Well-developed short- & long-term planning and organisational skills
• Sound financial literacy with the ability to interrogate and interpret financial statements and provide sound strategic insight
• High level attention to detail with a willingness to be adaptable, take on new concepts and learn
• Ability to work as a member of geographically remote teams
• Curious by nature, showing initiative with well-developed listening skills
• Computer literate with tertiary qualifications in agriculture, finance, business or similar
• Current first aid certificate and motor vehicle licence (C Class, manual)

Operational experience in livestock and/or cropping will be seen as highly advantageous as will any exposure to livestock marketing and supply chain analysis in Australian agriculture.
