Are you an experienced Senior Financial Accountant available immediately and looking for your next contract opportunity?

Our client is a well-respected not-for-profit organisation within the care services sector seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join their finance team for an initial four-week assignment. This role has been created to provide additional support during a busy reporting period, with a primary focus on preparing the 2025-26 Financial Statements and September Quarterly Financial Report (QFR).

This is a hands-on technical accounting role suited to someone who enjoys financial reporting and can quickly integrate into a collaborative finance team.

About the Role

Working closely with the finance team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing the 2025-26 statutory financial statements
  • Preparing the Q4 Quarterly Financial Report (QFR) ahead of the September reporting deadline
  • Reviewing and posting end-of-year journals
  • Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger
  • Completing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating variances
  • Assisting with month-end and year-end reporting activities
  • Supporting the external audit process where time permits

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience preparing statutory financial statements
  • Strong technical accounting and financial reporting skills
  • Experience preparing quarterly financial reports
  • Excellent journal preparation and general ledger reconciliation skills
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • The ability to work independently and meet tight reporting deadlines
  • CPA or CA qualification (completed or nearing completion) will be highly regarded
