We’re partnering with a highly regarded international law firm to recruit an experienced Events Manager to join its national Events team.
Reporting to the Head of Marketing – Events & Sponsorships, this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced events professional to take ownership of a diverse and high-profile portfolio within a top-tier professional services environment.
From client breakfasts and cocktail functions to intimate dinners, webinars, firm-wide celebrations and larger strategic events, no two projects will look the same. You’ll manage multiple events at different stages of planning, with a particular focus on Melbourne-based events while also having the opportunity to contribute to national initiatives.
Events are an important part of the firm's client and business development strategy, so this is a role where your work will have genuine visibility and impact.
What you’ll be doing
- Managing events from concept through to delivery across a varied corporate events portfolio
- Coordinating multiple events simultaneously, ensuring timelines, budgets, logistics and suppliers are all managed effectively
- Working closely with senior internal stakeholders, clients and external suppliers
- Delivering Melbourne-based events and supporting selected national initiatives
- Managing and developing one direct report
- Preparing event plans, run sheets, budgets and post-event reporting
- Identifying opportunities to continually improve the event experience and ways of working
- Working collaboratively with the broader Business Development & Marketing team
We’re looking for someone who is confident, commercially minded and genuinely passionate about events.
You’ll ideally bring:
- Strong experience managing corporate or professional services events
- Excellent project management skills and the ability to juggle competing priorities
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high standard of delivery
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to work with senior leaders
- A natural ability to build relationships and collaborate across teams
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of how events can support broader business objectives
- A proactive and energetic approach, with the ability to bring fresh ideas and solutions
- Experience leading, mentoring or managing others
The Team & Culture
You’ll join a national Events team of around 10 people, within a broader Business Development & Marketing function of approximately 75 nationally.
The firm places a strong emphasis on developing its people, with a clear focus on learning, building expertise and leadership development.
The role offers a balanced hybrid model of three days in the Melbourne CBD office and two days working from home, with additional office time initially to support training and relationship building.
As you would expect in a senior events role, some flexibility outside standard business hours is required, including early morning and evening events and occasional weekend commitments.
Interested? If you’re an experienced Events Manager looking for an opportunity to work across high-profile corporate events within a leading professional services environment, I’d love to hear from you.
