Field Technology Technician

We are seeking experienced Low Voltage / Field Technology Technicians to support ongoing retail and commercial technology deployments.

This is a hands-on field role focused on installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and supporting low-voltage cabling, network infrastructure, and in-store technology. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently in customer-facing environments and have experience across structured cabling, networking, POS, wireless, and other field technology systems.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, move, and support low-voltage and data communications equipment
• Perform structured cabling work including measuring, cutting, terminating, splicing, and testing cable
• Install and support Cat5/Cat6, fiber, wireless access points, routers, switches, racks, and related network equipment
• Support POS systems, computer terminals, cameras, digital signage, audio equipment, and other commercial technology
• Troubleshoot connectivity, cabling, hardware, and communication issues
• Test communication lines and equipment to confirm proper functionality
• Configure and validate equipment according to technical specifications
• Review work orders and technical documentation before and during installations
• Assist with site layouts and installation planning
• Demonstrate completed equipment and functionality to onsite contacts
• Maintain professional communication with customers and project teams

Qualifications

• 3+ years of low-voltage or structured cabling experience preferred
• Experience with Cat5/Cat6 installation and termination
• Fiber optic experience is a plus
• Experience installing racks, network equipment, and wireless access points
• Retail, commercial, or multi-site field deployment experience preferred
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a field team
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to travel locally and occasionally overnight
• Flexibility to work evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and overtime when projects require it
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb ladders and work in ceilings or other installation areas
• Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, and work on active job sites for extended periods

Work Environment

This is a 100% field-based position supporting technology installations across retail and commercial locations. Technicians may work individually or in small crews and will move between projects based on customer demand.

Some projects are completed outside normal business hours, including evening and overnight work.
