Our client is a well-established Health & Safety consultancy providing practical, tailored safety solutions across a range of sectors including construction, education, retail and commercial environments. Their reputation is built on delivering clear, effective and compliant advice that helps clients maintain high standards of health and safety.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced and proactive Health & Safety Advisor to join their team.

The Role

This is a varied, client-facing role supporting a portfolio of construction and commercial clients. You will provide professional health and safety advice, carry out site inspections, produce detailed reports and help businesses maintain compliance with current legislation.

You will act as a trusted advisor, ensuring clients receive practical guidance and support to create safe working environments and achieve their health and safety objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections and audits across client locations.
• Assess compliance with current health and safety legislation and industry best practice.
• Identify hazards and areas for improvement, providing practical recommendations.
• Produce detailed inspection reports and ensure they are submitted to clients in a timely manner.
• Monitor corrective actions and support clients in implementing improvements.
• Act as a designated Competent Person for clients where required.
• Provide day-to-day health and safety advice and guidance.
• Respond to client queries regarding compliance, site activities and legislation.
• Support clients in achieving and maintaining relevant health and safety accreditations and certifications.
• Review risk assessments, method statements, policies and procedures.
• Deliver health and safety training and toolbox talks.
• Promote a positive health and safety culture across client organisations.
• Keep clients informed of legislative updates and industry developments.
• Conduct accident and incident investigations when required.
• Support non-construction clients with audits, inspections and compliance monitoring.
• Assist with the development and implementation of health and safety management systems.

About You

Essential Requirements

• NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a Health & Safety Advisor, Consultant or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and compliance requirements.
• Experience carrying out site inspections, audits and risk assessments.
• Excellent report writing and documentation skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Desirable Requirements

NEBOSH Construction Certificate.

NEBOSH Fire Certificate.

Experience working within a consultancy environment.

IOSH membership or working towards membership.

Working Arrangements

This hybrid role involves regular travel to client sites across London and surrounding areas, attendance at the Canary Wharf office and some home-based working. Occasional overnight stays may be required depending on client location and project requirements.
