A well-known Auckland-based entity is looking for an experienced Data Delivery Lead to join a high-impact transformation programme. This is a hands-on squad leadership role where you'll be running delivery day to day for a cross-functional data squad and accountable for turning business priorities into shipped outcomes.
The opportunity
The Data & Analytics function runs on a squad model, with dedicated delivery leads owning execution across engineering, analytics and governance functions. This role leads one of those squads.
The environment is Snowflake-based, with Fivetran, Coalesce and AWS in the stack. The squad is delivering across regulatory reporting, operational analytics and data migration from a legacy SQL Server and enterprise data warehouse. The programme is in flight with senior exec level stakeholders, and running at pace.
You'll own the full delivery cycle: backlog management, sprint cadence, dependency tracking, risk visibility and stakeholder reporting. You'll also be expected to coach the squad on delivery discipline and continuously improve how the team works.

What you'll be doing
- Leading end-to-end delivery of data and analytics initiatives within your squad (planning, execution, dependencies and release)
- Keeping backlog and sprint cadence disciplined, transparent and tied to business value
- Making risks and blockers visible early and driving resolution across teams and vendors
- Reporting delivery progress and value realisation to the Head of Data and business sponsors in clear, specific terms
- Coaching the squad on agile principles, delivery metrics and outcome-based prioritisation
- Running retrospectives and translating them into genuine improvement
What you'll bring
- 7+ years delivering data or analytics programmes within large organisations
- Familiarity with modern data platforms (Snowflake, AWS, Fivetran, Coalesce) and how delivery dependencies work across them
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional data squads (engineering, BI, analytics, governance) without direct line authority
- Delivery metrics such as velocity, throughput, cycle time, quality and the ability to have hard stakeholder conversations grounded in them
- Strong agile delivery discipline with backlog management, sprint planning, and the judgement to know when to adapt the approach
- Senior stakeholder presence, translating between technical and business, hold your ground on scope and timeline, and keep alignment across a complex environment
