Construction Manager (Consultancy)

FRS Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with our client, a well-established engineering and project management consultancy, to recruit a Construction Manager for a major manufacturing facility expansion project in North Cork.

With an excellent reputation for delivering complex industrial, manufacturing and process facility projects throughout Ireland, our client has developed a strong pipeline of work across the food production, manufacturing and industrial sectors. They provide engineering, project management and construction management services from concept through to project completion, working closely with clients to successfully deliver technically challenging developments.

The successful candidate will initially join a significant manufacturing facility expansion project due to commence in the coming weeks, with an expected duration of approximately 12 months. The position is available on either a contract or permanent basis, with possible additional projects within the North Cork region thereafter.

This is a predominantly site-based role, with at least four days each week spent on site, acting as the client's representative while coordinating contractors, consultants and project stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. The project will involve a substantial facility extension together with associated utilities, enabling works, groundworks, internal reconfiguration and the installation of specialist building services and process equipment. As such, experience delivering Civil, Structural, Architectural (CSA), Mechanical & Electrical and fit-out packages will be highly advantageous.

Salary & Benefits

• €65-€70+ per hour (contract), depending on experience

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day construction activities across the project site
• Coordinate contractors, subcontractors and specialist suppliers
• Act as the primary site representative for the client
• Ensure programme milestones are achieved safely and efficiently
• Oversee civil, structural, architectural and internal finishing works
• Coordinate mechanical and electrical installation activities
• Monitor quality, compliance and health & safety standards
• Attend client, contractor and design coordination meetings

Requirements

• Degree qualified in Construction, Engineering or related discipline
• Previous Construction Manager, Senior Site Management, Project Manager experience in Ireland/UK ideally.
• Strong consultancy and/or T1 main contractor project experience ideally.
• Experience delivering industrial or manufacturing construction projects
• Proven client-facing and stakeholder management abilities
• Good knowledge of CSA, Mechanical & Electrical and fit-out project delivery
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Full driving licence with ability to travel throughout North Cork
