The Department is seeking an Organisational Change Manager to deliver change management activities on IT projects and initiatives. With a strong focus on engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, from APS staff to executive staff, the successful candidate will play a key role in managing stakeholder relationships, building alignment, managing expectations, and ensuring effective communication through the project lifecycle.
The ideal candidate will possess a sound understanding of change management principles, be driven by working collaboratively as part of a team, and bring proven experience in supporting change in technology-driven environments.
This role will report to a Lead Change Manager and work with a number of Senior Change Managers. The ideal candidate is expected to contribute strongly to a team-based delivery approach with shared standards, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the change management function.

Security Required: NV1 Security Clearance required
Location -Canberra - Hybrid

Key duties and responsibilities
- Deliver effective change management activities for assigned projects and initiatives as required.
- Build and maintain strong and collaborative working relationships with project teams, business stakeholders, SME’s, operational leaders and other change managers.
- Support the development and implementation of effective and adaptive change management strategies, plans and deliverables aligned to project objectives.
- Undertake stakeholder analysis, change impact assessments and develop readiness, transition and adoption plans to prepare and support successful adoption of changes across impacted business areas and staff.
- Assist with learning and capability uplift through detailed training needs analysis, design of education and training activities and modules, and development of user support materials.
- Support development of communications, presentations, stakeholder engagement activities and materials.
- Monitor and report on readiness and change adoption, including risks, issues, dependencies and progress against key milestones.
- Provide analytical and other support to the Lead Change Manager as required.
- Performance and deliverables will be regularly monitored against agreed activities and milestones
Essential criteria
- Demonstrated 5+ years’ experience delivering organisational change management activities within a project in technology-based environments.
- Demonstrated experience with the application and understanding of change management methodologies, frameworks and tools.
- Experience conducting stakeholder analysis, impact assessments, change planning, and readiness activities, including workshop facilitation within structured program and project delivery environments.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across multiple organisational levels.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to liaise, consult and negotiate with a range of stakeholders in a variety of contexts.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a high performing team environment.
