About the Role

This full-time Vocational Major Teacher position will commence in Term 1, 2027. The successful teacher will support students completing the VCE Vocational Major (VCE VM), delivering practical and applied learning that builds students' skills, confidence and readiness for further education, training or employment. The initial appointment is expected to be a 12-month fixed-term contract, with the intention of moving to an ongoing position following a successful year. An ongoing appointment may be considered from commencement for an exceptional candidate.

Skills and Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned VCE Vocational Major programs with a strong focus on applied and practical learning.

• Maintain high standards of student safeguarding, wellbeing and inclusive classroom practice.

• Build positive relationships and communicate effectively with students, families and colleagues regarding learning and student progress.

• Collaborate with colleagues to support individual student pathways, engagement and successful completion of the VCE VM.

• Contribute positively to the school's Islamic ethos, professional culture and broader school community.

Requirements

• Current VIT registration or eligibility for registration

• Relevant secondary teaching qualifications with the ability to teach within the VCE Vocational Major

• Strong classroom management, student engagement and relationship-building skills

• As a genuine requirement of this position within the school's religious context, the successful candidate must be a practising Muslim

• Full Australian working rights

• Two professional referees and completion of HARKE's safeguarding onboarding
