We are partnering with an Australian Government regulatory body to recruit a Pharmacist for an APS5-equivalent role within the Prescription Medicines Authorisation Branch. Based in Canberra, this position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to nationally significant outcomes by supporting the evaluation and regulation of medicines in Australia.
About the Role
You will play a key role in the assessment and evaluation of prescription medicine applications. This includes reviewing product information, contributing clinical expertise, and supporting regulatory decision-making processes to ensure medicines meet Australia’s safety, quality, and efficacy requirements.
Working within a collaborative team, you will liaise with medical officers and internal stakeholders, contribute to operational improvements, and support the efficient progression of applications through the regulatory lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and finalise minor variation applications for prescription medicines with a high level of accuracy under delegate supervision
- Review Consumer Medicine Information (CMI) and Product Information for new and generic medicine applications
- Draft approval correspondence and support regulatory documentation processes
- Provide clinical and legislative advice across the branch
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues related to submissions
- Contribute to process improvements, policy updates, and operational enhancements
- Support team initiatives, training activities, and broader branch functions as required
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Australian citizenship (essential)
- Current registration as a practising pharmacist with AHPRA
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- The ability to exercise sound professional judgement in a regulatory environment
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
