EMEA Recruitment is pleased to support an international business in its search for an Interim Absence Management Specialist to join the team at a key site in Limburg.
As the Absence Management Specialist, you will own and manage all sick leave, reintegration, prevention and well-being processes across multiple locations.

As the Absence Management Specialist, you will own and manage all sick leave, reintegration, prevention and well-being processes across multiple locations.
Responsibilities of Absence Management Specialist
- Act as the subject-matter expert for Dutch illness legislation and internal absence protocols, ensuring full compliance, accurate documentation and timely case management in a highly regulated environment
- Manage the full lifecycle of absence cases across retail, corporate and distribution center populations, coach and advise line managers, and lead sensitive absenteeism discussions with employees
- A key part of the role is driving reintegration in line with Wet verbetering Poortwachter, including coordination with occupational health providers/company doctors, maintaining Plans of Approach, and ensuring milestones are met through short- and long-term absence (up to 104 weeks).
- HR experience with hands-on Dutch sick leave/absence management
- Strong knowledge of Dutch labor law and Poortwachter requirements
- Confident coaching style
- Prior exposure to Arbo services, Works Council processes
