The school is continuing to develop its curriculum and is looking to expand its Sport and Recreation offering in 2027, creating an opportunity for a teacher to contribute to the direction and delivery of these programs.
About the Role
This full-time Sport & Recreation Teacher position will commence in Term 1, 2027. With the school moving towards a greater focus on Sport and Recreation rather than traditional Physical Education, the successful teacher will have the opportunity to contribute to the introduction and development of these subjects. The initial appointment is expected to be a 12-month fixed-term contract, with the intention of moving to an ongoing position following a successful year. An ongoing appointment may be considered from commencement for an exceptional candidate.
Skills and Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging Sport and Recreation programs that support practical learning, participation and student development.

Maintain high standards of student safeguarding, wellbeing and inclusive practice across classroom and practical environments.

Communicate effectively with students, families and colleagues regarding learning, participation and student progress.

Collaborate with colleagues to support the development and implementation of the school's expanding Sport and Recreation curriculum.

Contribute positively to the school's Islamic ethos, student programs and broader school community.
Requirements

Current VIT registration or eligibility for registration

Relevant secondary teaching qualifications with the ability to teach Sport and Recreation

Strong curriculum delivery, student engagement and classroom management skills

As a genuine requirement of this position within the school's religious context, the successful candidate must be a practising Muslim
