Apply directEMEA Recruitment has partnered with a leading European e-commerce and technology organization in its search for a Quality Lead to support the launch of a major new fulfilment center in Neuenberg, Germany.
Our client is a highly successful international business that continues to experience significant growth across Europe, driven by ongoing investment in its logistics infrastructure, technology, and customer experience.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Quality Lead to establish and embed best-in-class quality standards from the ground up.
You will be responsible for building the site's Quality function, developing a high-performing team, and creating a culture where quality is embedded into every stage of the operation.
Working closely with Operations, Engineering, Continuous Improvement, Training, and Customer Service, you will ensure customers consistently receive the right product, in the right condition, and at the right time.
You'll also play a key role in driving continuous improvement, implementing robust quality systems, and using data-driven insights to improve operational performance as the site continues to grow and scale.
The main responsibilities of the Quality Lead include:
- Building and leading the Quality function for a newly launched, high-volume fulfilment center, developing a high-performing team and embedding a culture of operational excellence
- Driving customer-focused quality initiatives by reducing defects, complaints, returns, and operational quality issues through structured root cause analysis
- Establishing quality standards, operating procedures, control plans, and quality gates that support efficient, scalable operations
- Leading continuous improvement activities using Lean methodologies and structured problem-solving tools including PDCA, A3, 5 Why, 8D, and PFMEA
- Developing data-driven quality reporting, analyzing performance trends, and providing recommendations to senior leadership to improve operational performance
- Partnering with Operations, Engineering, Continuous Improvement, Safety, Training, IT, and external partners to implement sustainable quality improvements
- Supporting the introduction of new technologies, automation, and innovative quality solutions while ensuring robust risk assessment and process validation
- Creating a proactive quality culture where operational teams take ownership of quality performance and continuous improvement
Technical skills:
- Previous experience leading Quality within high-volume logistics, fulfilment, distribution, manufacturing, or automated operational environments
- Experience supporting or leading the launch of large-scale operational sites, ideally within facilities of 1,000+ employees
- Strong leadership experience with the ability to coach, develop, and build high-performing technical teams
- Excellent knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Toyota Production System (TPS), Built-in Quality, Standard Work, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience using structured problem-solving techniques including PDCA, A3, 5 Why, 8D, PFMEA, and control plans
- Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting operational data, quality metrics, and statistical analysis to drive decision-making
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior leadership
- Degree qualified in Engineering, Quality Management, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related discipline would be advantageous
