Apply directA leading academic cardiovascular program in Hartford, Connecticut is seeking a BC/BE Intensivist with a strong cardiac interest and experience or a Cardiologist with critical care experience and/or training to join its highly specialized Cardiac ICU team.
Position Highlights:
- Full-time Cardiology / Critical Care opportunity
- Join a collegial, highly trained Cardiac ICU team
- Care for patients with complex cardiovascular disease, including pre- and postoperative cases
- Manage patients with cardiogenic shock and acute mechanical circulatory support
- Exposure to ECMO, Impella and intra-aortic balloon pumps
- Care for heart transplant and ventricular assist device (VAD) patients
- Opportunities to participate in the ECMO program
- Leadership opportunities within the ECMO program for physicians with appropriate experience
- ECMO cannulation experience preferred but not required
- Educational opportunities with APPs, cardiology fellows, critical care fellows, residents and interns
- Perform chest tube placement, bronchoscopy and emergent intubations
- Work alongside highly trained advanced practitioners and critical care fellows
- Access to a robust academic cardiovascular program with advanced heart failure, cardiac surgery and transplant services

Qualifications:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiology and/or Critical Care
- Critical care experience and/or training for cardiologists, or strong cardiac experience for intensivists
- Ability to perform chest tube placement, bronchoscopy and emergent intubation
