Staff Accountant (Temp-to-Hire) – Arlington, TX
Pay: $34-$44+/hr, depending on experience
Schedule: Full-time, hybrid during the temp assignment (fully onsite after conversion)

About the Opportunity
Core Personnel Staffing is hiring an experienced Staff Accountant for a professional sports and entertainment organization in Arlington, TX. This is a 3-6 month temp-to-hire assignment with a clear path to a permanent role. You’ll join a collaborative, fun accounting team and work alongside the CFO, Senior Accountants and Payroll Manager.

We’re especially interested in someone who enjoys improving how work gets done. If you’ve used AI tools like Microsoft Copilot to automate manual processes, we want to talk to you.

What You’ll Do

  • Reconcile 39 bank accounts across 5-6 financial institutions each month

  • Prepare and file sales tax returns for about 13 entities across five jurisdictions

  • Manage payroll general ledger reconciliations and accruals, including health insurance reconciliations

  • Reconcile payroll deductions and payment reports to the general ledger

  • Prepare and submit banking reports

  • Find manual processes and help automate them using AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot

  • Support the Senior Accountant and assist with other accounting tasks as needed

What You Bring

  • 4+ years of hands-on accounting experience (5–7+ years preferred)

  • Experience with bank reconciliations across multiple accounts

  • Experience preparing and filing sales tax returns

  • Payroll accounting experience, such as GL reconciliations and accruals (payroll processing experience is a plus)

  • Strong Excel skills

  • Experience using AI or automation tools to streamline accounting processes is strongly preferred

  • Sage 500 or Workday experience is a plus, but not required. Training is provided.

  • No degree or CPA required
