An opportunity is available for an experienced Payroll Officer to join a NSW Government organisation for an initial 4-month contract. Working within a busy payroll function, you will support day-to-day payroll processing while also contributing to system testing and transition activities. The environment is deadline-driven and requires someone who can quickly get across complex payroll requirements and work accurately with large volumes of employee data.

Applicants must have hands-on experience with both SAP Employee Central (EC) and SAP Employee Central Payroll (ECP).


Role Responsibilities:
  • Processing payroll transactions accurately and within required deadlines
  • Supporting fortnightly payroll processing and associated activities
  • Maintaining and validating employee and payroll data
  • Undertaking payroll reconciliations, audit checks and issue resolution
  • Preparing and validating payroll reports and compliance documentation
  • Responding to payroll enquiries and resolving payroll-related issues
  • Supporting system testing, data validation and documentation as part of ERP/payroll transition activities
  • Identifying payroll discrepancies and contributing to process and system improvements
  • Ensuring payroll activities comply with relevant legislation, awards, policies and employment conditions
Skills and experence required: 
  • Hands-on SAP Employee Central (EC) experience
  • Hands-on SAP Employee Central Payroll (ECP) experience
  • Demonstrated end-to-end payroll processing experience
  • Experience working within a complex, high-volume or multi-award payroll environment
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, awards and employment conditions
  • Experience with payroll reconciliation, data validation and troubleshooting
  • High attention to detail and the ability to work to strict payroll deadlines
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Previous government or large complex organisation experience will be highly regarded

This is a great opportunity for an experienced SAP payroll professional to join a collaborative government team during an important period of payroll and systems activity. Please note: candidates without SAP Employee Central AND Employee Central Payroll experience will not be considered.
