Job Summary

The Production Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring production equipment to support efficient manufacturing operations while maintaining quality and safety standards. Responsibilities include assembly, machine operation, loading and unloading materials, robotic cell operation, and performing quality inspections throughout the production process.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Complete all required start-up inspections and daily equipment check sheets, including robots, cranes, chillers, and other production equipment.
  • Operate production equipment and robotic cells according to standard operating procedures.
  • Load raw materials and parts into machines, fixtures, or jigs.
  • Perform assembly and fabrication using hand tools, power tools, and production equipment.
  • Monitor equipment during operation and perform basic troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
  • Meet production schedules, cycle times, and quality expectations.
  • Inspect parts for defects, proper assembly, weld quality, hardware installation, and overall workmanship.
  • Complete all required production documentation to ensure product traceability.
  • Read and follow blueprints, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area using 5S principles.
  • Properly store tools, equipment, and materials at the end of each shift.
  • Report equipment issues, quality concerns, and safety hazards to supervision.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience

  • Previous manufacturing or machine operator experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a production or assembly environment preferred.

Skills

  • Ability to read blueprints and follow work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to identify defects and process abnormalities.
  • Strong organizational skills with a commitment to 5S and workplace safety.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Frequently bend, crouch, reach, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, gloves, sleeves, and long pants.

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing/shop floor environment.
  • Exposure to machinery, moving equipment, and production noise.
  • Overtime and weekend work may be required based on production schedules.
