Apply directEMEA Recruitment is partnering with an international organization operating in a complex, highly regulated environment to recruit a Senior Internal Auditor.
As the Senior Internal Auditor, you will lead risk-based internal audit engagements across international operations, evaluating governance, risk management and internal controls.
You'll also provide strategic recommendations that enhance operational effectiveness.
Working closely with senior stakeholders, this role will help drive continuous improvement across a diverse and fast-paced business.
Key responsibilities of the Senior Internal Auditor:

Lead and deliver risk-based internal audit assignments across multiple business functions, including on-site and remote reviews

Conduct interviews with stakeholders across commercial, operational, risk and corporate functions to evaluate business processes and internal controls

Assess and document key controls, procedures and audit findings, identifying opportunities to strengthen governance and mitigate risk

Design and perform data-driven audit testing, including automated analytics, trend analysis and exception reporting to support continuous assurance activities

Execute detailed audit testing across operational processes, transactions and financial activities using risk-based sampling techniques

Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and compliance with company policies, governance standards and applicable regulatory requirements

Mentor junior members of the audit team and contribute to knowledge sharing across the functions
Candidate profile:

Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or a related discipline

Professional qualification such as CIA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent is highly desirable

Approximately 6-8 years' experience in internal or external audit, ideally within a commodity trading company.

Experience using data analytics to support audit delivery; Knowledge of tools such as Python, SQL, Power BI, Tableau or similar analytical platforms would be advantageous

Experience working with ERP or enterprise business systems is desirable

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Fluent English, both written and spoken. Additional languages would be beneficial

Willingness to travel internationally (approximately 25%)
