Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the monthly close process with a focus on balance sheet reconciliations and transaction-level review.
• Perform bank reconciliations within QuickBooks, accurately categorizing and tagging cash transactions.
• Investigate discrepancies in cash accounts and manage reconciliation cleanup.
• Record and reconcile cash sweep and investment account activities, including interest income.
• Support Ramp expense review, ensuring proper account and class tagging.
• Reconcile lease-related accounts such as ROU assets and lease liabilities, including amortization and payments.
• Maintain prepaid expenses and fixed asset schedules, tracking new additions, depreciation, and amortizations.
• Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies independently, contributing to process enhancements and cleanup efforts.

Required Skills:

• Extensive hands-on experience with QuickBooks, especially bank reconciliation functionalities.
• Strong month-end close and balance sheet reconciliation expertise.
• Proficiency in cash accounting, general ledger activity, and journal entries.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment and dig into transactional details.
• Excellent research skills to identify and resolve discrepancies quickly.

Nice to Have Skills:

• Prior experience working in a startup or high-growth setting.
• Familiarity with Ramp and accounting for cash sweep/investment accounts, leases, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets.
• Prior involvement in accounting process development or historical cleanup projects.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Senior-level accounting experience with strong month-end close and reconciliation skills.
• Proven ability to work in fast-paced environments and adapt to evolving processes.

Other Requirements:

• This position is fully remote, with a preference for candidates able to occasionally visit the San Francisco office.
• Must be comfortable working independently with limited oversight.
• Experience recording lease amortization, interest income, and supporting balance sheet cleanups is highly valued.
