About the role
As a Business Services Accountant, you will manage your own portfolio of clients, engage directly with business owners, and take ownership of jobs from commencement to completion. This position offers considerable responsibility beyond traditional compliance roles due to the firm's structure and client engagement model.
Key responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of SME and private clients
- Prepare and review financial statements and tax returns
- Handle company, trust, partnership, and individual work
- Manage client relationships and queries
- Liaise with offshore accounting resources and review their work
- Identify tax and compliance issues
- Manage lodgement deadlines and end-to-end job ownership.
Skills & experience
- Proven experience in public practice accounting, with 4-8 years in Business Services & Tax
- Strong capability in managing client relationships and understanding complex client structures
- Demonstrated ability to prepare financial statements and tax returns, including work with trusts and companies.
