Position Summary
The Mayo Material Handler is responsible for the movement, storage, staging, and delivery of raw materials, packaging components, and finished mayonnaise products throughout the manufacturing facility. This role ensures that production lines are supplied with the necessary materials while maintaining inventory accuracy, food safety standards, and efficient warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and store incoming raw materials and packaging supplies.
- Transport ingredients, packaging materials, and finished products to and from production areas.
- Stage materials according to production schedules and work orders.
- Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
- Verify product quantities, lot numbers, and expiration dates to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Maintain accurate inventory transactions using warehouse management systems or inventory tracking tools.
- Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory practices and material rotation procedures.
- Assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory reconciliation activities.
- Ensure materials are handled and stored according to food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.
- Inspect pallets, containers, and materials for damage and report discrepancies.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe warehouse and production staging areas.
- Follow all GMP, HACCP, OSHA, and company safety standards.
- Support production, warehouse, and quality teams to meet operational goals.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous warehouse, material handling, manufacturing, or food production experience preferred.
- Forklift experience and certification preferred.
- Basic computer skills and experience with inventory management systems are a plus.
- Ability to read work orders, production schedules, and shipping documents.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift throughout the shift.
- Frequently lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and pallet-moving equipment.
- Capable of working in refrigerated, warehouse, and production environments as needed.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and flexible schedules when required.
