Talent Quarter is partnering with a respected, values-driven community organisation to recruit an experienced Social Worker or Allied Health professional for its Medicare Mental Health Centre in Redcliffe. If you want to deliver person-led, trauma-informed mental health support within a genuinely collaborative team, this one is worth a conversation.

You'll work alongside people to understand their needs, strengths and recovery goals, providing comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment, recovery planning, practical psychosocial support, service navigation and therapeutic group programs. The people you support may be experiencing emotional distress, suicidal ideation or complex circumstances involving housing, family violence, substance use, employment or physical health.

You'll work alongside people to understand their needs, strengths and recovery goals, providing comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment, recovery planning, practical psychosocial support, service navigation and therapeutic group programs. The people you support may be experiencing emotional distress, suicidal ideation or complex circumstances involving housing, family violence, substance use, employment or physical health.
No two days are the same. Your work may include:
- Conducting trauma-informed biopsychosocial assessments
- Developing and reviewing person-led recovery and support plans
- Providing immediate support to people experiencing acute distress
- Building participants' confidence, independence and practical life skills
- Connecting people with clinical, housing, domestic and family violence, employment, financial, AOD and community services
- Supporting applications for the NDIS, Disability Support Pension, social housing or Victim Assist
- Co-facilitating therapeutic and psychosocial groups (e.g. DBT skills, art therapy, walking groups)
- Working alongside Peer Service Guides in a welcoming drop-in environment
- Providing outreach support across Redcliffe and the Southern Moreton Bay region
- Collaborating with families, carers, health professionals and community providers
About you
You're a thoughtful, compassionate practitioner who builds trust with people in difficult or uncertain circumstances, balancing professional assessment with warm, practical support.
Essential:
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work or a relevant Allied Health discipline
- Current AASW eligibility or registration with the relevant professional body
- Experience undertaking comprehensive biopsychosocial or psychosocial assessments
- Experience developing recovery plans that help people achieve meaningful goals
- Sound knowledge of trauma-informed, strengths-based and recovery-oriented practice
- Ability to respond calmly and constructively to distress, uncertainty and complexity
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong collaboration skills within a multidisciplinary team
- Confidence using client information and data management systems
- Experience with outcome measurement tools such as K10+, RAS-DS or CANSAS
- Experience supporting therapeutic or psychosocial groups
- Current open Queensland driver licence
- Access to a roadworthy, appropriately insured vehicle
- Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening clearance (or ability to obtain them)
- Satisfactory criminal history check
