Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer with a strong practical engineering background to support manufacturing operations, equipment reliability, maintenance initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts. The ideal candidate enjoys working on the production floor, troubleshooting complex mechanical issues, and driving operational improvements. This role requires broad mechanical engineering expertise, the ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams, and a proactive approach to implementing solutions that improve equipment performance, efficiency, and reliability. The Mechanical Engineer will collaborate closely with team members while demonstrating the company's core values of accountability, teamwork, and integrity.
- Basic electrical knowledge and fault-finding capability.
- Experience working with motors, sensors, control systems, and industrial electrical equipment.
- Multi-skilled maintenance experience combining mechanical and electrical disciplines.
- Qualified Mechanical Engineer or equivalent engineering apprenticeship with relevant industry experience.
- Strong machining experience, including: Milling, Turning, Surface and cylindrical grinding
- Proven maintenance and fitting experience within a manufacturing, production, or engineering environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and mechanical schematics.
- Experience with equipment installation, alignment, fault finding, repair, and preventative maintenance.
- Competent in the use of precision measuring equipment and workshop tools.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, bearings, drives, hydraulics, and pneumatic systems.
- Good problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
- Ability to work safely and effectively in a workshop and production environment.
- Self-motivated and practical approach to engineering challenges.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexible and adaptable with a willingness to support varied engineering activities.
- Strong focus on health, safety, and operational excellence.
