Currently, we are partnering with a leading European construction solutions provider to recruit a Mechanical Lead (m/w/d) for a major project based in Munich, Germany.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage site safety in collaboration with the project team and Safety Advisor, including full lifecycle management of the safety file.
• Oversee QA/QC processes for the mechanical package, including setup, implementation, and close-out.
• Coordinate and manage the project schedule alongside the project team, consultants, and client requirements.
• Take ownership of all costs related to the mechanical package, including labour, subcontractors, materials, plant, and variations.
• Lead and manage day-to-day site operations for the mechanical scope.
• Supervise subcontractors, track progress against programme, and manage manpower levels.
• Chair weekly subcontractor meetings and ensure progress is aligned with project milestones.
• Manage snagging and punch list processes using internal systems.
• Mentor and support junior engineers, ensuring development and reporting accuracy.
• Ensure procurement schedules are in place and materials and equipment are delivered on time.
• Attend and contribute to site meetings, planning sessions, engineering reviews, and project coordination meetings.
• Prepare and issue weekly internal progress reports highlighting risks, delays, and percentage completion.
• Maintain accurate documentation including safety files, QA files, and subcontractor records.
• Lead project close-out activities including final accounts, O and M manuals, punch lists, and handover documentation.
• Monitor labour hours and provide weekly safety statistics and workforce projections.
• Collaborate with the commercial team to track variations and manage cost control.
• Ensure effective change management across cost and programme.

Requirements

• Trade background and or relevant third level qualification in mechanical or building services engineering.
• Minimum 5 years experience in project management or a similar leadership role.
• Proven track record managing large scale mechanical installation projects.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and site compliance.
• Experience in design and build project environments.
• Good technical understanding of both mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience managing subcontractors, project schedules, and site coordination.
• Strong IT and reporting skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to work to strict deadlines and drive project delivery.
