Senior Mechanical Engineer

Join a major long-term mining infrastructure program delivering key processing and materials handling assets in Western Australia. This is an opportunity for a technically strong Mechanical Engineer who enjoys design, engineering problem-solving, and seeing projects through from concept to construction.

Working within a multidisciplinary team, you'll play a key role in the early-stage options analysis, design development, and delivery of major infrastructure packages, including bulk materials handling systems, processing facilities, and associated infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering support across project study, design and execution phases
• Coordinate and review engineering deliverables with internal and external design teams
• Manage technical interfaces between engineering disciplines
• Support equipment selection, design reviews and technical assessments
• Conduct site visits and provide practical engineering input to project delivery
• Ensure designs meet operational, safety and reliability requirements
• Assist with construction planning and execution activities as projects progress

About You

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering
• 5-20 years' experience in mining, heavy industry, resources, or infrastructure projects
• Strong technical engineering capability with a passion for design and engineering excellence
• Experience in both design engineering and practical site-based project delivery
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Well organised and capable of managing multiple workstreams

Desired Experience

• Mining and resource sector projects
• NPI (Non-Process Infrastructure)
• Conveyors and crushing systems
• Water pumping systems
• Process and utility piping systems
• Greenfield project environments

This role is ideally suited to a technically focused engineer who wants to remain close to engineering and design rather than moving into a purely project management pathway.
