Reporting to the Project Manager, you will provide mechanical engineering and project delivery support across construction, shutdown execution, commissioning and project handover activities.
Working closely with contractors, operations and multidisciplinary project teams, you will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient and technically compliant delivery of mechanical scopes including surge bins, chutes, conveyors, structural steel and associated fixed plant infrastructure.

Working closely with contractors, operations and multidisciplinary project teams, you will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient and technically compliant delivery of mechanical scopes including surge bins, chutes, conveyors, structural steel and associated fixed plant infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day mechanical engineering support throughout construction, commissioning and handover phases.
- Review engineering drawings, vendor documentation, specifications and contractor deliverables.
- Coordinate interfaces across structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation disciplines.
- Manage technical queries, RFIs, field changes and non-conformances.
- Support quality assurance activities including inspections, testing and mechanical completion documentation.
- Assist with shutdown planning and execution readiness.
- Monitor contractor performance, productivity, schedule and cost outcomes.
- Support commissioning, troubleshooting and defect resolution activities.
- Drive completions, punch list close-out and final project handover requirements.
- Promote safe execution through site inspections, risk reviews and constructability assessments.
- Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in mechanical engineering and project delivery within mining, resources or heavy industry.
- Proven brownfield fixed plant construction and shutdown experience.
- Experience working with materials handling systems including conveyors, surge bins, chutes and related equipment.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, lifting operations, welding and quality requirements.
- Experience coordinating contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Knowledge of commissioning, completions and handover processes.
- Excellent communication, planning and problem-solving skills.
- Current C Class Driver's Licence.
- Ability to work a 2:1 FIFO roster to Port Hedland.
