The Role
As the Senior Cost Manager, you'll be responsible for managing day-to-day commercial activities across multiple live projects, ensuring robust cost control and supporting procurement throughout the project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing, assessing and managing project variations.
- Preparing commercial recommendations and obtaining internal approvals.
- Developing and maintaining detailed project cost plans.
- Assisting with tender preparation, evaluation and tender recommendations.
- Managing cost comparisons and pre-award ("pre-flight") commercial reviews.
- Supporting procurement activities across major trade and equipment packages.
- Working closely with project teams to provide commercial advice throughout project delivery.
- Producing accurate reporting and cost analysis using advanced Excel skills.
- Ensuring commercial governance and cost management processes are maintained across multiple projects.
To be successful, you'll ideally have:
- A Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or Construction Management qualification.
- Previous experience as a Senior Cost Manager, Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager.
- Strong cost planning and estimating experience on major construction projects.
- Experience evaluating tenders and preparing commercial recommendations.
- Excellent understanding of variations, procurement and contract administration.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Previous experience within data centres, mission-critical, commercial, industrial or other complex building projects will be highly regarded.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Initial 6-month contract with strong potential to become permanent.
