The Role
You will contribute across a range of duties as required as part of a collaborative team which (depending on your experience) may include:
- Management of month-end closing processes including accounts payable, journals, accruals, revenue recognition, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Preparation and delivery of timely, accurate financial reports to the board and leadership, including variance analysis
- Maintenance of the fixed asset register, proper capitalisation, reconciliations, and periodic reviews for impairments and revaluations
- Preparation and submission of GST returns, statutory reports, and support for treasury and banking activities
- Contribution to budgeting, reforecasting, KPI reporting, and identification of operational efficiencies and cost savings
- Active participation in internal and external audits and financial statement preparation
- Continuous improvement of finance systems, processes, and team capability as a subject matter expert
Your Profile
You are a dedicated accounting professional with:
- A business degree majoring in accounting (or equivalent) and 3 - 5 experiences in a finance team (ideally CA qualified)
- Strong technical skills in month-end processes, fixed assets, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Intermediate to advanced Excel and MS Office proficiency, with experience in finance systems
- A genuine commitment to diversity, inclusion, and Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles, with an interest in the not-for-profit or social services sector highly valued
