2nd Shift Grind Operator

Nesco Resource is looking for a 2^nd shift Grind Operator located in Torrington, CT. This is a temp to perm opportunity for the right candidate.

Shift: Monday-Friday 2:30PM-11PM

Pay: $18/hour

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and dependable Grind Operator to join a precision manufacturing environment on 2nd shift. This position is responsible for operating a variety of production and grinding equipment to maximize productivity while maintaining high quality standards. Candidates should have previous machine operation experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of manufacturing equipment, including:
  • Grinders
  • Millers
  • Presses
  • Hones
  • Bore grinders
  • Race grinders
  • Face grinders
  • Other related machinery
• Run multiple machines simultaneously when cycle times allow
• Monitor machine performance and product quality throughout the production process
• Read and interpret blueprints, prints, and work instructions
• Make simple machine adjustments to maintain specifications and quality standards
• Perform routine inspections of parts during production
• Use precision measuring instruments including:
  • Micrometers
  • Vernier measuring tools
  • Air gages
• Ensure products meet dimensional and quality requirements
• Maintain accurate production records as required
• Follow all safety procedures and manufacturing standards
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and production-ready

• Previous experience operating grinding or machining equipment preferred
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Experience using precision measuring equipment
• Ability to make basic machine adjustments and troubleshoot minor issues
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to multitask and operate more than one machine when required
• Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
