Full-Time | Fixed Term Opportunity | North West Ireland

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a compassionate and motivated Registrar in Palliative Medicine to join a specialist multidisciplinary team within a modern 8-bedded inpatient palliative care unit in the North West of Ireland.

This role offers the opportunity to work in a highly supportive environment focused on delivering exceptional specialist palliative care to patients and families across inpatient, community, and outpatient settings.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

  • Provide high-quality medical care to patients with life-limiting illness
  • Work collaboratively within an experienced multidisciplinary team
  • Participate in symptom management, end-of-life care planning, and family support
  • Contribute to teaching, audit, and continuous service improvement
  • Gain valuable experience in specialist palliative medicine within a patient-centred service

Requirements

Applicants should have:

  • Current registration or eligibility for registration with the Irish Medical Council
  • Previous clinical experience at Registrar level
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine interest in palliative medicine and holistic patient care
