IT Manager

IT Manager – Permanent | Parramatta

An established Australian organisation is looking for an experienced IT Manager to take ownership of its technology function and support the next stage of its technology journey.

Reporting directly to the CEO, this is a broad leadership position responsible for IT operations, business systems, infrastructure, service delivery, vendors and the ongoing development of the technology environment. You will lead a combination of internal resources and external technology partners while remaining close enough to the operational environment to step in when required.

A key part of the role will be working closely with senior leadership, shareholders and Board members. We are therefore looking for someone who can communicate technology clearly in business terms, manage different stakeholder expectations and provide practical advice around technology priorities, investment, risk and improvement.

The organisation currently operates a range of established and legacy business systems, including an ERP environment that is expected to evolve as the business continues to change. Deep expertise in any particular ERP platform is not required; however, previous experience managing ERP or other business-critical enterprise applications would be highly regarded.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead the day-to-day technology function and provide direction to internal and external resources
• Develop and progressively deliver technology priorities and improvement initiatives
• Manage ERP and other business-critical systems
• Oversee infrastructure, service delivery, security and business continuity
• Manage technology vendors, service providers, contracts and performance
• Maintain effective BAU technology services while identifying opportunities for improvement
• Lead, support and develop technology team members
• Provide advice and recommendations directly to senior leadership
• Communicate technology investment, risk and business benefits to executive and Board-level stakeholders
• Act as a senior escalation point for significant operational or technology issues

We are looking for:

• Demonstrated experience as an IT Manager, Head of IT or similar technology leadership position
• Strong people leadership and stakeholder management capability
• Experience engaging with CEOs, executives, Directors or Board-level stakeholders
• Broad understanding of infrastructure, applications, service delivery and cybersecurity
• Experience managing ERP or other enterprise business systems
• Strong vendor and commercial management experience
• Ability to translate technical issues into clear business impacts and recommendations
• A practical, hands-on leadership style with the ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels
• Experience within food, FMCG, manufacturing, distribution, wholesale or supply chain environments would be advantageous but is not essential

This is a permanent position based fully onsite in Parramatta, with very occasional interstate or New Zealand travel. The package is approximately $180,000–$220,000 including superannuation, depending on experience.
