Maintenance Technician

A skilled Mechanical Craft Person is required to deliver high-quality mechanical maintenance in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. This hands-on role supports plant reliability, efficiency, and continuous production, working closely with engineering, maintenance, and production teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out mechanical fault finding, breakdown response, and repairs to minimise downtime
• Execute planned preventative and corrective maintenance activities
• Maintain and overhaul equipment including pumps, gearboxes, bearings, conveyors, and rotating machinery
• Work on hydraulic, pneumatic, and steam systems
• Support installation, commissioning, and upgrades of mechanical equipment
• Ensure full compliance with HSEQ standards, including Permit to Work and LOTO procedures
• Accurately complete CMMS work orders and maintenance records
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and contractors to optimise plant performance
• Participate in shutdowns and continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements:

• Qualified Mechanical Craftsperson (QQI/FETAC Level 6 Advanced Craft Certificate or equivalent)
• 3+ year's experience in an industrial maintenance environment
• Strong experience in mechanical fault finding, repairs, and preventative maintenance
• Good working knowledge of rotating equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, and steam systems
• Experience using CMMS and good computer literacy
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or within a team
