About the Company
Our client is a well-established Irish civil engineering contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high quality infrastructure, utilities, and public realm projects nationwide. Due to continued project success, they are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a flagship public realm development in Co. Kerry.
This major town centre regeneration project commenced in December 2025 and has a remaining programme of approximately 12–18 months. The project is progressing on schedule, supported by an experienced site team, strong client relationships, and excellent stakeholder engagement, providing a smooth transition for the successful candidate.
The Role
Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of this high profile public realm project, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget while maintaining excellent relationships with clients, local authorities, subcontractors, and the wider project team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all site operations while promoting the highest standards of Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental (HSQE) compliance.
- Manage and coordinate daily site activities to meet programme milestones and contractual obligations.
- Oversee commercial and operational performance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead and support multidisciplinary teams including engineering, planning, commercial and HSQE personnel.
- Manage project budgets, resources, plant, materials and subcontractors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and key stakeholders.
- Identify commercial risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Manage project change control procedures and ensure variations are agreed where required.
- Coordinate pre-start and site coordination meetings.
- Mentor site engineers and support the ongoing development of the project team.
- Ensure accurate completion of as-built records, drawings and project documentation, including Safety Files.
- Drive programme delivery while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
- Ensure company procedures and industry best practices are followed at all times.
- Promote a professional and collaborative working environment across the project.
- Carry out any additional duties required to ensure successful project delivery.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Project Manager within civil engineering, utilities or public realm projects.
- Experience delivering Public Realm or Public Works Contract (PWC) projects is highly desirable.
- Engineering qualification preferred but not essential with relevant experience.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Commercial awareness with experience managing project budgets and programmes.
- Strong IT and project management skills.
- Ability to solve problems, make decisions and deliver projects successfully under pressure.
