Salary: €65,000 - €80,000 DOE + Benefits
GI Group is currently recruiting on behalf of a leading organisation for an experienced Bid Manager to join a growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused professional who enjoys managing the full tender lifecycle, working with cross-functional teams, and delivering high-quality submissions that secure new business.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership, taking ownership of the complete bid process from opportunity identification through to handover following contract award. You will coordinate internal stakeholders, ensure compliance with client requirements, and produce compelling, commercially sound tender submissions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end bid and tender process, ensuring all submissions are completed accurately and within required deadlines.
- Produce high-quality, compliant, commercially competitive and customer-focused bid submissions.
- Coordinate and manage bid teams, bringing together the appropriate technical, operational and commercial expertise required for each opportunity.
- Build and maintain strong relationships throughout the client and supplier engagement process.
- Prepare, review and validate the commercial aspects of each bid, ensuring all services and pricing are accurately reflected.
- Identify, monitor and manage risks and issues throughout the tender process.
- Contribute to the preparation of written proposals, ensuring both the content and presentation meet a high professional standard.
- Present and manage bid financial information while ensuring all submissions receive the required commercial approvals before submission.
- Analyse and resolve technical, commercial and strategic challenges during the bidding process.
- Coordinate post-bid reviews with customers following contract award.
- Manage contractual and compliance requirements across all tender opportunities and customer engagements.
- Ensure a smooth handover of successful projects to the operational delivery teams.
- Review all bid documentation to ensure full compliance with customer specifications and tender requirements.
- Continuously assess and improve bid processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Analyse successful and unsuccessful tender outcomes, identifying lessons learned and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Monitor market trends and undertake data analysis to support future bid strategy and process development.
- Undertake additional duties as required in line with the evolving needs of the business.
Requirements
- 5–10 years of experience in similar role.
- Strong commercial awareness with an excellent understanding of bid and tender processes.
- Experience managing multiple internal departments and external stakeholders.
- Good understanding of procurement procedures and tendering processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all organisational levels and with external partners.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coordinate teams and manage objectives effectively.
- Highly organised, with excellent planning, prioritisation and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of the customer journey and the importance of delivering an exceptional client experience.
