About the Opportunity
We are working with a state government client seeking and Program Support Officer to join their Governance & Design team.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves solving problems, enjoys helping others, and takes pride in keeping systems, processes and people working together efficiently.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing routine with variety. While you'll play a key role in managing priority correspondence and supporting critical day-to-day operations –particularly during your onboarding and backfill support period – you'll also have opportunities to improve processes, contribute to team-wide initiatives, support improvement projects and help solve challenges across the business. Your ability to adapt, think critically and switch between priorities will be highly valued.

Your new role
The Governance and Design team plays a critical role in strengthening the systems, governance and support that underpin the delivery of communications and engagement activities across the North Coast Region. We help our teams work efficiently, consistently and effectively by driving improvements to processes, tools, reporting and business practices. Our work supports the successful delivery of major transport and road infrastructure projects that make a real difference to our local communities.
  • Take joint ownership of a shared high-volume inbox, efficiently triaging executive correspondence, enquiries and requests, identifying the right actions and ensuring matters are progressed promptly.
  • Provide responsive administrative and operational support that helps the team stay organised, informed and focused on delivering results.
  • Develop, maintain and improve systems, databases, reporting tools and communication channels that support efficient business operations.
  • Assist with governance and compliance activities, helping ensure processes are followed and records are maintained accurately.
  • Compile and coordinate information for a range of reports, dashboards and updates for senior stakeholders.
  • Support community engagement activities through coordination of materials, stakeholder records and administrative processes.
  • Build strong working relationships across the region and become a valued point of contact for colleagues seeking assistance and advice.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, address inefficiencies and contribute to projects that strengthen the team's systems, resources and ways of working.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:
  • Experience managing busy, high-volume inboxes and delivering accurate, professional communication to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the initiative to identify and resolve issues.
  • A customer-focused approach and a genuine commitment to helping others achieve successful outcomes.
  • Experience working with administrative, governance and record-keeping processes, including maintaining databases and accurate information.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Teams and SharePoint.
  • A commitment to fostering a workplace culture of respect, inclusion and diversity.
  • Highly regarded - Experience identifying and implementing process improvements or business efficiency initiatives.
  • Highly regarded - Knowledge of Queensland Government or public sector processes and practices.
