Amplifi Talent are partnering with an established mechanical and electrical contracting business to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to join its growing Projects Division.
Following continued growth and the award of a long-term local project, this represents an excellent opportunity to join an experienced commercial team and take responsibility for the commercial management of several live projects.
The successful candidate will report to the Commercial Director and work closely with Contract Managers, clients, design teams and the supply chain to support effective cost control, contract administration and project delivery.
The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business offering a choice of office base in Portadown or Mallusk, alongside ongoing training and development. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to:
- Manage monthly valuations and track payment assessments
- Prepare and manage variations, maintaining clear records of project changes
- Support contractual notifications and administration across JCT and NEC contracts
- Prepare subcontractor orders and coordinate with supply chain partners
- Visit sites alongside Contract Managers to review progress, valuations and variations
- Support monthly commercial reporting, cost analysis and forecasting
- Build strong working relationships with project teams, clients and subcontractors
- Contribute to the continued development of the quantity surveying function

The Person
Key skills and experience are likely to include:
- Strong numeracy and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships
- Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel•
- The ability to manage your own workload and meet strict deadlines
- A collaborative approach and a commitment to continued professional development
- A UK driving licence and willingness to undertake site visits
Experience within mechanical and electrical contracting, building services or related project environments would be advantageous, alongside knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts. Further training in contract notifications and administration will be available.
