ABOUT THE ROLE

Our client is a leading global multinational organization looking for a Security Automation Engineer to join its Security Automation team.

You will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and enhancing security automation capabilities that support global security operations.

This role focuses on Cortex XSOAR, Python development, API integrations, and security orchestration. You will work closely with SOC analysts, incident responders, detection engineers, and other security stakeholders to translate operational requirements into scalable technical solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance Cortex XSOAR playbooks, integrations, scripts, and automation workflows.

• Develop Python-based automation supporting security investigation, enrichment, incident response, case management, containment, and notification workflows.

• Integrate security platforms and enterprise systems through REST APIs and other integration methods.

• Partner with SOC analysts, incident responders, and security stakeholders to understand operational requirements and implement automation solutions.

• Participate in the full project lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and operational support.

• Troubleshoot and resolve automation failures, integration issues, API problems, and workflow defects.

• Improve the reliability, scalability, and operational effectiveness of existing automation capabilities.

• Maintain reusable automation frameworks, development standards, and engineering best practices.

• Contribute to automated testing and quality assurance processes for new and existing automation.

• Leverage AI-assisted development tools such as Kiro, Claude, Codex, and similar technologies to improve engineering productivity.

• Support production operations through monitoring, troubleshooting, and participation in an on-call rotation.

• Document automation behaviour, operational procedures, dependencies, and troubleshooting guidance.

• Participate in knowledge sharing and mentoring activities across the team.

REQUIREMENTS

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, automation engineering, security engineering, SOAR development, or a related technical field.

• Hands-on experience developing automation using Cortex XSOAR or a comparable SOAR platform.

• Strong proficiency in Python development and scripting is a must.

• Experience working with REST APIs, JSON, authentication mechanisms, and third-party integrations.

• Understanding of security operations workflows, including alert triage, investigation, incident response, case management, and response orchestration.

• Experience using source control systems such as Git and GitLab.

• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to translate business and operational requirements into technical solutions.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively within a globally distributed team.

• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation supporting critical security automation services.
