Senior Accountant

 A specialized firm is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its collaborative team in Saskatoon. This is an exciting opportunity for a CPA who wants to move beyond traditional public accounting and into a strategic, client-focused role. You'll work alongside experienced advisors, helping business owners navigate complex financial decisions and long-term planning initiatives.

 

Reporting to senior leadership, you'll partner with privately owned businesses and their advisors to develop customized strategies around business succession, tax planning, ownership transitions, and long-term financial success. Rather than focusing primarily on compliance work, you'll apply your technical expertise to deliver meaningful advisory solutions and build trusted client relationships.

What You'll Do

• Advise clients on business succession, ownership transitions, and long-term planning strategies
• Develop tax planning recommendations tailored to clients' financial and business goals
• Collaborate with accountants, legal professionals, and other advisors to implement strategic solutions
• Analyze complex financial situations, identify opportunities and risks, and provide practical recommendations
• Build strong, long-term relationships with business owners and key stakeholders
• Participate in client meetings and contribute to the planning and execution of advisory engagements
• Stay informed on tax legislation and industry developments to support high-quality client advice

What You'll Bring

• CPA designation (or recently designated CPA)
• Experience in public accounting, ideally at the Senior Accountant or early Manager level
• Strong Canadian tax knowledge and experience working with private or owner-managed businesses
• Previous exposure to advisory, business planning, or succession planning is considered an asset
• Excellent analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills
• A consultative mindset with a passion for solving complex business challenges
• Ability to manage multiple client engagements while working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
