Job Description: We seek dynamic and experienced Sales Consultants to join our team. There are three openings for this role in the following areas: Toledo, OH; Kansas/Missouri; and Greater Indianapolis. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in the concrete industry and possess excellent sales and organizational skills. This role requires flexible and resilient individuals who can thrive in a high-pressure environment and are willing to travel as needed.
Role Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Consultant to join our team in the following regions:
- Kansas/Missouri
- Greater Indianapolis
- Ohio (Toledo)
As a Sales Consultant, you will be responsible for sales, compliance, and relationship-building with contractors, ready-mix producers, and other key stakeholders in the construction industry. This hybrid, full-time role combines technical expertise with sales and business development activities to ensure our products are effectively implemented in customer projects.
Responsibilities:
- Sales & Relationship Building:
- Engage with contractors, ready-mix producers, architects, engineers, and field personnel to build strong relationships and drive sales.
- Maintain and grow a customer base by consistently following up on leads and inquiries.
- Ensure product availability, provide on-site technical support, and monitor concrete placement.
- Manage sales activities, track performance, and report progress to the sales team and management.
- Field Support:
- Provide professional representation and technical support at client sites, trade shows, and conferences.
- Visit job sites to ensure concrete is being batched and applied correctly according to specifications.
- Assist with concrete sample collection and processing as needed.
- Offer advice on dispenser installation and maintenance to ready-mix producers.
- Customer Service & Problem Resolution:
- Address any customer concerns or complaints related to our client's products and escalate issues as necessary.
- Follow up with customers during and after the project to ensure satisfaction and identify future sales opportunities.
- Training & Development:
- Assist in the training of customers and internal teams on the proper use and benefits of our client's products
- Stay updated on the latest product developments and industry trends to provide accurate information to customers.
- Travel & Flexibility:
- Travel regularly to visit clients, attend conferences and trade shows, and conduct product demonstrations.
- Be adaptable to changing schedules and locations and maintain high levels of client engagement.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the concrete industry (preferred background in ready-mix, engineering, or contracting).
- Engineering background (7+ years) is also acceptable.
- Prior experience with utility sales and compliance is a plus.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences (contractors, engineers, field superintendents).
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible, fast-paced schedule.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Other Requirements:
- Clean driving record (no more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years, no recent DUIs).
- Willingness to travel frequently, including overnight stays.
- Must be able to work in a hybrid role (both in the office and on-site).
- Must be comfortable working with high-level technical concepts and products.
