Product Manager & Product Owner Opportunities

We are seeking experienced Product Managers (EL2 equivalent) and Product Owners (EL1 equivalent) to join a major Federal Government digital transformation program. These opportunities are ideal for professionals who are passionate about delivering customer-centric digital products, leading Agile teams, and driving meaningful business outcomes.

These roles offer the opportunity to work on large-scale transformation initiatives, partnering with multidisciplinary teams to improve digital services and deliver high-value outcomes.

About the Roles

As a Product Owner, you will work closely with business stakeholders, architects, designers and Scrum teams to maximise product value by managing and prioritising product backlogs, refining requirements and ensuring customer needs remain at the centre of delivery.

As a Product Manager, you will provide strategic product leadership, shaping product vision, roadmaps and long-term initiatives while collaborating with business leaders and delivery teams to drive continuous improvement across complex digital products and services.

Key Responsibilities

Product Owner

  • Own and prioritise the product backlog to maximise business value.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, designers and Scrum teams.
  • Translate customer needs into well-defined user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Support Agile delivery through backlog refinement, sprint planning and PI Planning.
  • Balance business priorities, technical constraints and customer outcomes.
  • Engage stakeholders to gather feedback and continuously improve products.
  • Identify and manage risks, dependencies and delivery issues.

Product Manager

  • Define product vision, strategy and long-term roadmaps.
  • Lead product discovery and prioritisation activities.
  • Partner with business owners to improve end-to-end customer experiences.
  • Manage product lifecycle and strategic initiatives.
  • Influence senior stakeholders and align competing priorities.
  • Guide Product Owners and multidisciplinary delivery teams.
  • Drive evidence-based decision making using customer insights and data.
  • Communicate progress, risks and strategic outcomes across stakeholders.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience working as a Product Manager or Product Owner within Agile environments.
  • Strong experience managing product roadmaps, backlogs and customer-focused delivery.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary Agile teams.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, Scrum and SAFe.
  • Experience leading product discovery, prioritisation and value-driven delivery.
  • Ability to balance business, customer and technical considerations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Highly Regarded

  • Experience within Australian Government digital transformation programs.
  • Knowledge of the Australian Digital Service Standard.
  • Agile certifications such as Certified Product Owner (CSPO), SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager or equivalent.
  • Experience with Microsoft technologies including Dynamics 365, Blazor or similar enterprise platforms.
  • Understanding of complex business systems and enterprise architecture.
