Work Schedule: Onsite with the potential to transition to a hybrid schedule

Position Overview

The Post-Eligibility Specialist is responsible for monitoring and actively managing a caseload of dependent DCS youth who are receiving federal benefits, including Social Security, Veterans benefits, and/or Railroad Retirement benefits.

This position requires strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage a high-volume caseload while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and actively manage cases for dependent DCS youth receiving federal benefits.
• Ensure compliance with Arizona Revised Statute (A.R.S. § 8-468) and applicable federal benefit program guidelines.
• Maintain accurate documentation and case records.
• Review benefit information and identify required follow-up actions.
• Coordinate and communicate regarding Social Security, Veterans, and Railroad Retirement benefits.
• Manage a potentially high-volume caseload efficiently and accurately.
• Follow departmental policies, timelines, and compliance requirements.

Caseload

The Department currently manages approximately 900 youth with active federal benefits at any given time.

Individual caseloads may be as high as 300 cases per Post-Eligibility Specialist.

Important Candidate Requirement

Candidates should review Arizona Revised Statute A.R.S. § 8-468 prior to interviewing and be prepared to discuss their understanding of the statute as it relates to the position.
