WHS On‑Site Advisor (Casual / Part‑Time)

Processing Plant / Industrial Operations

We are seeking a technically strong WHS On‑Site Advisor to support safety performance across our processing‑plant operations. This role suits an experienced safety professional seeking casual or part‑time hours while maintaining hands‑on involvement in high‑risk industrial environments.

About the Role

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will provide technical WHS support across daily operations, ensuring compliance with Australian WHS legislation and site‑specific risk controls. Responsibilities include:
  • Conducting formal site inspections, hazard identification and risk assessments
  • Leading and reviewing JHAs, SWMS and task‑based risk documentation
  • Monitoring critical controls in a processing‑plant environment (isolation, guarding, confined space, hazardous chemicals, mobile plant)
  • Supporting incident reporting, root‑cause investigations and corrective action verification
  • Delivering toolbox talks, pre‑starts and targeted safety coaching
  • Ensuring compliance with Australian WHS legislation, Codes of Practice and internal standards
  • Assisting with contractor management and verification of competency
Required Skills & Experience

To be considered, you must demonstrate:
  • Minimum Australian WHS qualification (e.g. Cert IV in WHS or higher)
  • Proven experience working in a processing plant, manufacturing, mining or heavy‑industry environment
  • Strong understanding of high‑risk work controls (LOTO, confined space, working at heights, hazardous substances)
  • Ability to interpret legislation, standards and technical safety documentation
  • Confident communication with operators, supervisors and management
  • Ability to work autonomously and provide practical, evidence‑based safety advice
