We're looking for an experienced Senior .Net Analyst Programmer / Software Developer to join the Trading Technology team, where you'll play a key role in designing, developing and supporting the software platforms that underpin the company’s Energy Trading operations. This is an opportunity to work on business-critical systems, modernise legacy applications, and contribute to the ongoing evolution of our technology landscape.
  
This role offers an excellent mix of greenfield development, modern cloud technologies and the opportunity to modernise existing .NET Framework applications into contemporary .NET solutions.
  
What You'll Be Doing
  • Design, develop and deliver high-quality enterprise software solutions
  • Enhance and support both modern .NET applications and legacy .NET Framework systems
  • Build scalable APIs, distributed services and system integrations
  • Develop modern web applications using contemporary front-end frameworks
  • Work across cloud-based and on-premise environments
  • Participate in architecture discussions, technical design and solution delivery
  • Support production systems, deployments and ongoing application performance
  • Mentor developers and contribute to engineering best practices
  • Conduct code reviews and champion high-quality software engineering standards
  • Collaborate within Agile delivery teams to continuously improve systems and delivery practices
About You
You'll be a passionate analyst programmer / software engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems and delivering reliable enterprise solutions. You'll thrive in collaborative environments, and have a strong focus on quality, continuous improvement and modern software engineering practices.
  
Essential Experience
  • Degree in Information Technology, Engineering or equivalent industry experience
  • 7+ years' experience developing enterprise software solutions
  • Strong commercial experience with C# and modern .NET
  • Experience supporting and modernising legacy .NET Framework applications
  • Strong knowledge of ASP.NET Core, dependency injection, background services and application configuration
  • Experience building RESTful APIs using OpenAPI/Swagger
  • Experience developing distributed services and system integrations
  • Strong Oracle and SQL Server database development skills, including performance tuning and data modelling
  • Experience building modern web applications using Vue.js, React or Angular
  • Strong understanding of automated testing, including unit and integration testing
  • Experience working within Agile environments using modern DevOps practices
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, source control strategies and engineering standards
Highly Regarded
  • Energy, electricity or gas trading systems experience
  • Azure cloud platforms
  • Docker, Kubernetes and Helm
  • Event-driven architecture
  • WPF, MVVM or Silverlight experience
  • Experience working across both microservices and legacy monolithic environments
