Obstetrics & Gynaecology Consultant

Adelaide, SA | Contract / Temporary | Rate: $3,000 per day (standard rate) | On-Call Rate: $3,500 per day

 

 

About the Role

Join a well-supported regional healthcare service located approximately one hour from Adelaide, delivering essential women’s health services to the local community. This opportunity offers the chance to work within a collaborative clinical environment focused on providing high-quality obstetric and gynaecological care across both inpatient and outpatient settings.

 

We are currently seeking two experienced Obstetrics and Gynaecology Consultants for locum placements. The role will involve a combination of antenatal clinics, gynaecology clinics, obstetric and gynaecology operating lists, as well as participation in 24-hour on-call coverage. The hospital manages approximately 500 births annually and primarily handles uncomplicated deliveries over 37 weeks.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist Obstetrics and Gynaecology services within a regional hospital setting
  • Conduct antenatal and gynaecology outpatient clinics
  • Participate in obstetric and gynaecology operating sessions
  • Contribute to the on-call roster as required
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure quality patient outcomes
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold professional standards of care

 

About You

  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) preferred
  • GP Obstetricians with relevant experience are encouraged to apply
  • Current AHPRA registration or eligibility to obtain registration
  • Strong clinical capability across obstetrics and gynaecology services
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently within a regional healthcare environment
