About the Company  
Opportunity to join this well‑established global manufacturer and distributor of industrial power transmission and motion control products.  The Australian operation combines local warehousing and sales with access to global engineering and manufacturing capability.

The Role
Reporting to the Managing Director for ANZ, you will be responsible for the accuracy and integrity of all financial reporting, the management of statutory and tax obligations, intercompany and group reporting to the Japanese parent entity. You will also lead and develop a dedicated team of three direct reports and act as a key business partner to the broader leadership team.

Responsibilities include:

Financial Reporting & Control

• Own month/quarter/year-end close for ANZ, delivering accurate P&L, balance sheet and cash flow.
• Maintain GL integrity, including fixed assets and leasing, with strong reconciliations and controls.

Intercompany & Group Reporting

• Manage all intercompany transactions and transfer pricing with the Japanese parent and group entities.
• Prepare group reporting packs and act as the key ANZ contact for global finance.

Statutory, Tax & Regulatory Compliance

• Oversee ANZ statutory accounts and all tax obligations (income tax, GST, FBT, payroll tax).
• Ensure compliance with ASIC/ATO and NZ requirements and maintain a robust governance framework.

External Audit Management

• Lead the external audit process for ANZ, coordinating information and resolving queries.
• Implement audit recommendations to strengthen controls.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Business Partnering

• Lead budgets and forecasts for ANZ and provide commercial insight on pricing, investments and performance.
• Manage working capital, cash flow, treasury and banking relationships.

Team Leadership, Payroll & Risk Management

• Lead and develop the ANZ finance team (AP, AR, Financial Accountant).
• Oversee payroll accuracy and compliance, and manage insurance, workers compensation and broader financial risk.

About you 

• CA/CPA qualified.
• At least 3-5 years in a Head of Finance capacity.
• Demonstrated experience operating within a subsidiary of a multinational or global business with intercompany, transfer pricing, and group reporting obligations.
• Prior experience leading and developing a finance team.
• Background in industrial manufacturing, distribution, engineering, or a product-based business is highly regarded.
• Strong technical accounting capability across IFRS and Australian Accounting Standards.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel.
• Sound knowledge of Australian tax obligations including corporate income tax, GST, FBT, and transfer pricing compliance.
• Working knowledge of intercompany reconciliation and Payroll.
• Collaborative working style with the ability to build effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external parties.
