FRS Recruitment is looking for a self-motivated and experienced Tenancy Sustainment Officer to join a well-established homeless service based in Mayo/ Leitrim. This service’s mission is to provide homes for individuals, couples and families who not only need a home but also present with other support needs. It promotes a respectful, inclusive environment for all employees and residents.
In your new role you will:
- Provide support and be responsible for the settlement of new tenancies with ongoing tenancy sustainment supports for tenants with mental health and other complex support needs.
- Ensure new tenants are supported in their existing homes or in settling into new homes and communities.
- Support tenants to help maintain their mental health recovery.
- Ensure that each tenant is supported to access training, employment and avail of education opportunities identified through the support planning process.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with partner organisations such as Mental Health teams, Local authorities and other Housing Associations and Community Supports
- Provide information as required for grant applications to fund the services and costs of the service in your region. To provide information to funders on expenditure of grants.
- Attend staff meetings, other relevant project meetings and contribute to the overall development of the staff team and service.
- All other tasks as outlined by your manager.
To be a successful candidate you will have:
- A QQI Level 8 in Social Care, Addiction Studies or relevant discipline.
- A minimum 2 years’ experience working in a community- based service and case management.
- The ability to work on your own initiative.
- Knowledge of child protection issues, mental health issues and addiction.
- Excellent admin, recording and report writing skills with the ability to update the database.
